Since 1956,
Still the Chogyal's Promise.
A kingdom once made a promise to its farmers: no harvest would ever be lost to distance again. Seventy years and one government later, we’re still keeping it.
Some of what we protect now, a kingdom started protecting before certification existed.
Our Collection of Heritage
Extended crop by crop — from a single bottle of orange squash in 1956 to a full pantry of Himalayan preserves.
The Origin
Founded by a King, for his People.
In 1956, Sikkim was still a kingdom. Its orchards grew oranges the rest of India barely knew existed — and its mountains made them nearly impossible to sell before they spoiled. So His Highness Chogyal Tashi Namgyal founded an institution, not a company, with one job: make sure a farmer’s harvest was never at the mercy of distance again. That job hasn’t changed. Only the pantry has.
The Transition
A Kingdom's Promise,
Kept by a Government.
When Sikkim joined India in 1975, a lot changed. This didn’t.
The institution the Highness Chogyal Tashi Namgyal Chogyal founded became a Public Sector Undertaking of the Government of Sikkim — and the promise it was built on simply passed from one steward to the next. Same orchards. Same standard. Now backed by a state instead of a throne.
Seventy years, one continuous line of ownership, zero gaps in the promise.
The People
Started for the Farmer.
Still Built Around One.
A single bottle of orange squash, made with one lakh rupees and one promise, was never really the product. The farmer behind it was.
Sikkim’s growers used to be exposed on both ends — a harvest that could spoil overnight, and buyers who knew a spoiling crop had no bargaining power left. So the same institution that preserved the fruit also agreed to buy it, fairly, before it ever had the chance to rot.
Seventy years later, that’s grown into a full house of Himalayan produce — squashes, pickles, jams, spices, wellness ingredients — but the method behind every jar hasn’t moved: preserve it, purchase it fairly, process it, protect it.
